Format Numbers as Whole, Thousands and Millions

You can enter, show, and report numbers in Lending Cloud as whole numbers, nearest thousands and nearest millions.

Indicators

You select indicators (radio buttons) at the top of the certain screens to determine if numbers are shown as whole numbers, nearest thousands or nearest millions.

Functionality

If you want to use this feature on your Lending Cloud site, you must select the following option for your functionality group:  Defaults -> Customize -> System Settings. You will need to log out to activate this setting.

Setting up System Settings

On the System Settings screen, you can turn on and off the Whole Numbers / Thousands / Millions feature. Do the following when you log in.

1. Click the Defaults menu.

2. Click Customize.

3. Click System Settings.
 

On the System Settings screen. (Click Yes to have the Nearest Thousands indicator appear; No to have it not appear).

1. Click Yes to have the Nearest Millions indicator appear; No to have it not appear. Note: Whole Numbers is not an option because it will always be set to Yes.

2. Select the Default Value for the indicators. This option defaults to whole numbers if you do not make a selection.

3. In the Reports Precision area, you can choose whether you want the setting for reports to work in conjunction with or independently from the display/entry indicator.

4. Click Save & Stay to retain your selections.

Setting up Credit Actions

You can also add a Whole Numbers, Nearest Thousands, Nearest Millions indicator to your credit action forms.
 

To add the Whole Numbers Thousands Millions indicator to your credit action forms

1. Click Defaults -> Credit Action -> Forms Generation -> Add/Modify/Delete.

2. Click the Setup link for the appropriate form.

3. At the top of the screen, click the Select link under Category and click Page Setup from the pop-up window.

4. Click the Select link under Type of Question / Comment on Form.

5. Select Thousand Million indicator.

6. Enter the order number for where you want the indicator to appear on your credit action report.

7. Click Add.

Current Customers

Screens

Once you have established the System Settings, you will see the indicator radio buttons on the following screens within your existing customer records.

The indicators on the Balance Sheet Summary, Balance Sheet Trends, Income / Expense Summary and Income / Expense Trends screens will always work in conjunction with each other.  If you change the indicator to Nearest Millions on the Balance Sheet Trends screen, the Income / Expense Trends screen will also change to Nearest Millions.
 

The following screens will show this message: “Numbers are rounded to the nearest Thousands /Millions” based on the indicator selection from the Balance Sheet Summary or Trends, or the Income / Expense Summary or Trends.  (No message will appear if Whole Numbers is selected.)

New Customer Setup Screen

Select Defaults->Customize->System Settings on the Functionality Group screen to have the option of setting the default for the Whole-Thousands-Millions indicator on the New Customer Setup screen. You can change the default once the customer has been added. The Non-Financial Chart of Accounts dollar amounts are not affected by the selection of Whole Numbers, Thousands, or Millions.

Reports Setup

The Reports Setup screen will either work in conjunction with the indicator from the screens, or independently of the screens based on the setting selected in Defaults.

If the Whole Numbers indicator is selected on the Reports Setup screen, the reports (with the exception of the Common-Size reports) will print with no additional message.

If the Nearest Thousands indicator is selected on the Reports Setup screen, in the upper right corner of the report this message will appear: “Amounts rounded to ‘000’s.”

If the Nearest Millions indicator is selected on the Reports Setup screen, in the upper right corner of the report this message will appear: “Amounts rounded to 000,000’s.”

Common-Size Reports

If the Whole Numbers indicator is selected on the Reports Setup screen, the Common-Size reports will now show this message in the upper right: “Amounts rounded to 000’s.”

If the Nearest Thousands indicator is selected on the Reports Setup screen, the Common-Size reports will now show this message in the upper right: “Amounts rounded to 000’s.”

If the Nearest Millions indicator is selected on the Reports Setup screen, the Common-Size reports will now show this message in the upper right: “Amounts rounded to 000,000’s.”
