Math in a Cell

You can enter math formulas in user-defined cells on the summary and trends screens to perform math calculations. You can type addition, subtraction, multiplication, division calculations and parenthesis within the math calculations.

The following rules apply to what you can and cannot enter in these cells:

Exponents are not permitted, e.g., a number or symbol, as 3 in (x + y) 3.

Formulas can have up to 256 characters.

When switching between whole, thousands and millions views, math in cell is retained but not converted to match the format. For example, if you input a calculation when a customer is set whole numbers and then switch that customer to thousands the calculation is retained.

When the cell value is overwritten, the calculation is cleared out and the “+/-“ icon will be hidden.

A new formula is entered in a cell overwrites the original calculation.

To enter a math formula, click in the cell and begin entering the values:

To view a math formula, place the cursor over the plus/minus (+/-) symbol next to a cell that contains a math formula.  Calculations are stored when you save your screens.
